Meet Scout Data Advisors founder, John Lee

With a unique set of experiences and career accomplishments, John stands as one of the leading data innovators and strategists in the world. His passion for data and its undiscovered potential began as a university student, where he penned his senior thesis, “Neural Networks and Parallel Distributed Processing in Artificial Intelligence” in 1995.

His professional career has spanned nearly 30 years across multiple sectors enabling Fortune 1000 companies to deliver superior results through advertising, marketing and digital experience. John’s unique area of expertise is in the development and monetization of audience-based planning, activation, and measurement platforms that work seamlessly across linear and digital media. He served as the “founder”, chief architect, and business owner of such platforms supporting billions in media investment and hundreds of millions in direct revenue at both the holding company and media owner levels during his tenure at companies such as Dentsu and NBCUniversal.
John has over 20 years of experience leading scaled strategy, product, product marketing, technology, data science, and measurement teams on both the buy and sell side and is a leader who can help businesses “see around corners” on how data will drive differentiation as regulation and technology evolves. John has most recently focused on what he believes will be the next big leap for the media industry: “ID-less” transactions between buyers and publishers underpinned by first-party data and generative AI without the movement of data.
John and his family live in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
